C. D. Woodhouse was the Assitant Prof of Mineralogy Emeritus U.C.S.B. - Trustee and Research also in Geology at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum. THE GOLDEN BEAR nugget which C. D. Woodhouse, local mineralogist is exhibiting, is the emblem of the California Federation of Mineral Society and appears on all its stationery. Of gold crystals, it was found on the Yankee Jim Diggings in Placer County about 1872.
