Barrie Bieler Fee and mileage charge: $40 for MINERALS IN STEREO which requires special stereo (3-D) projector, screen, and glasses for audience. $20 for all other programs (non-stereo); all mileage 15¢ per mile, round trip. Equipment needed: Kodak Carousel projector & screen for all programs other than MINERALS IN STEREO. Length of program: Spontaneous comments from a tray of slides- 20 to 60 minutes. Advance notice needed: 2 to 4 weeks. Area traveled: Nominally 60 mile radius of Walnut Creek, except arranged overnight situations. Programs: 1. MINERALS IN STEREO - Projected 3-D images and how-to descriptions Barrie Bieler (69 years in 1998) was born and raised in Southern California. He has a B.S. and M.S. in Geology from Cal Tech and a Ph.D. in Mineralogy from Penn State (1955). He worked 2 1/2 years for the USGS, 28-years with the Dow Chemical Co. in technical ceramics and high-temperature chemistry. Since retirement in 1986 he has been teaching geologic and photographic subjects in Adult Education programs.
